Cowgirls Doubles Teams Roll Through First Day at Regionals

IOWA CITY, Iowa–After the first day of play at the ITA Regional Championships, both women's tennis pairs advanced to the round of 32.
Catherine Gulihur and Marina Guinart got things rolling for the Cowgirls with an 8-1 defeat of South Dakota's Natka Kmoskova and Jana Lazarevic.
No. 1 seeded Sofia Blanco and Lisa Marie Rioux handled Bradley's Bozana Lojpur and Malini Wijesinghe 8-1 to move on.
Blanco and Rioux face either Tulsa or St. Louis and Gulihur and Guinart will take on the winner of Iowa State vs. Arkansas.
The Cowgirls resume doubles play tomorrow at 9 a.m. and will kick off singles play as well.
