Cowgirls Advance Again at Stillwater Pro Tennis Classic

STILLWATER – Cowgirls Lisa Marie Rioux and Katarina Adamovic advanced Monday in qualifying action at the Stillwater Pro Tennis Classic at the Greenwood Tennis Center. Meanwhile, in doubles play, Viktoriya Lushkova advanced to the doubles main draw.

Adamovic came up with a big win in her second-round match, as the Serbian native handled No. 5 seed Ksenia Laskutova, 6-4, 6-4, to advance for the second-straight day. The pair are no strangers to each other, with Laskutova currently playing collegiately at in-state rival Tulsa.

OSU fans in attendance were able to cheer Cowgirl newcomer Lisa Marie Rioux to a big win over Ole Miss All-American Arianne Hartono. With a 6-2, 6-4 win on Monday, Rioux moves on to Tuesday's qualifying finals where she will take on No. 6 seed Piia Suomalainen for a spot in the singles main draw.

Lushkova came up short in her singles match against Kristina Sorokolet, but in the lone qualifying doubles match of the day, teamed up with Florida's Anna Danilina to bounce back with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win over Charity Johns and Rosalyn Small. With the win, Lushkova and Danilina clinched a spot in the doubles main draw.

Singles qualifying finals will be played beginning Tuesday at 9 a.m. CT, with main draw action in singles and doubles starting up at 1 p.m. CT.
