Reasnor And Shippy Named To Academic All District Teams

STILLWATER ---- Oklahoma State softball's Vanessa Shippy and Kristin Reasnor were named to the 2017 Academic All-District team in the seventh district by College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA), it was announced today.
The pair mark the 13th and 14th Cowgirls in program history to be named to the Academic All-District team. In 2016, Shippy was the first Cowgirl to achieve this honor since Chelsea Garica in 2012.
"This is really exciting for this program," head coach Kenny Gajewski said. "But I'm really excited for those two kids. They epitomize what it means to be a student athlete at the highest level off the field as well as on. I just can't say enough about what these two kids mean to us and OSU."
Shippy and Reasnor now advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-American team ballot. First, second and third team All-American honorees will be selected later this month.
Oklahoma State has had nine Cowgirls named to an Academic All-American team, with the last being Shippy in 2016.
Shippy, a junior from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, is majoring in Marketing and Finance. Reasnor, a senior from Quinton, Okla., is majoring in Mathematics.
