Senior Salute: Katarina Adamovic

Known for her fiery demeanor on the court and electrifying style of play, senior Katarina Adamovic has become a fan favorite at the Greenwood Tennis Center during her four years at Oklahoma State.
During her time in Stillwater, Adamovic has been a fantastic ambassador for the budding Cowgirl tennis program and Oklahoma State University as a whole, while also serving as a vocal leader in the locker room.
On the court, the Cacak, Serbia, product has evolved into one of the most dynamic players in the country. As a freshman, Adamovic started for the Cowgirls in the four and five singles spots, but would eventually develop into a singles All-American with a run to the NCAA quarterfinals last season to cap a fantastic junior campaign.
During her breakout 2016 season, Adamovic posted an 8-1 singles mark in the postseason to help the Cowgirls to a Big 12 Championship and NCAA Runner-Up showing. During the run through the NCAA Championships, she notched top-25 wins over No. 5 Ellen Perez (Georgia), No. 7 Maegan Manasse (California) and No. 25 Carol Zhao (Stanford) to earn herself the title of Most Outstanding Player for the tournament.
In the NCAA Singles Championships, Adamovic knocked off No. 20 Sydney Campbell (Vanderbilt), No. 5 Ellen Perez (Georgia) and No. 15 Belinda Woolcock (Florida) to clinch her quarterfinal appearance and first career All-America honor.
With 88 career doubles wins, Katarina Adamovic sits in fifth on the program Big 12 era career doubles wins list and 10th all-time in program history. With an .800 win percentage in doubles, Adamovic's doubles win percentage leads the Big 12 era list in that category.
Currently sitting with a 17-6 record on the 2017 season, Adamovic is in the hunt for her third consecutive 20-win season. Her 71 career singles wins rank 10th among Cowgirls since the inception of the Big 12.
Along with the numerous accomplishments listed above, Adamovic's impressive on-court resume also includes an ITA Central Region singles championship, three All-Big 12 selections and a Big 12 singles championship.
Adamovic Career Highlights
Freshman
- Finished the season strong, winning seven of her last nine matches to take the Big 12 singles title at the No. 4 spot.
- Knocked off Pippa Horn of Texas in a three-set match to seal the Cowgirls' first road win over the Longhorns since 1989.
Sophomore
- Won the singles bracket of the Dickie V Classic.
- Selected to All-Big 12 singles team and the All-Big 12 doubles team with Vladica Babic.
- Finished second with Babic at the ITA Central Region Championships.
Junior
- Notched a team-high 10 wins over ranked opponents.
- Was named First Team All-Big 12 in singles and Second Team All-Big 12 in doubles with partner Vladica Babic.
- Posted an 8-1 singles mark in the postseason to help the Cowgirls to a Big 12 Championship and NCAA Runner-Up showing, while propelling herself to an NCAA Singles Championship quarterfinals appearance.
- Was named the NCAA Tournament's Most Outstanding Player, while landing on the All-Tournament team for both singles and doubles.
Senior
- With two top-50 wins, was one of three Cowgirls to advance to the singles main draw round of 16 at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships.
- Teamed up with Vladica Babic at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships to knock off the No. 11, No. 7 and No. 4 doubles teams in the country, advancing to the consolation finals.
- Advanced to the quarterfinals of the Oracle/ITA Masters with wins over Ansley Speaks of Furman and No. 8 Jasmine Lee of Mississippi State.
