Cowgirls Move to No. 7 in ITA Rankings

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State women's tennis team moved up one spot to No. 7 in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association team rankings, which were released on Tuesday.

The Cowgirls' rise in the rankings comes after a 4-0 shutout of then-No. 30 Texas in Stillwater last Friday. Oklahoma State (14-3; 2-0 Big 12) has now won 16-straight regular season conference matches dating back to March 29, 2015. The team has also won six consecutive matches overall.

Individually, the Cowgirl roster boasts five ranked singles players and four ranked doubles teams.

Senior Viktoriya leads the Cowgirls in singles, coming in at No. 10 once again this week. Aliona Bolsova rose a spot to No. 42, while senior Katarina Adamovic jumped 10 spots up to No. 66. Junior Vladica Babic made the big move of the week, rising from No. 92 to No. 73 in the today's poll. Senior Carla Tur Mari rounds out the list of ranked Cowgirls at No. 109.

In doubles, Tur Mari and Babic are once again in the top five this week, moving up a spot from their last ranking. After being posted at No. 37 last week, Bolsova and sophomore Sofia Blanco come in at No. 23 in this week's rankings. Lushkova and Adamovic are ranked No. 44 in the doubles poll.

The Big 12 has five teams in the top 25 of this week's rankings, which ranks second only to the SEC. Aside from the seventh-ranked Cowgirls, No. 9 Texas Tech, No. 15 Baylor, No. 21 Kansas and No. 22 Texas each make appearances in the poll.

The Cowgirls have an idle week on the schedule this weekend, but will return to Big 12 play next week when they travel to Texas for a pair of matches at No. 9 Texas Tech and TCU.
