Cowgirl Equestrian Honored For Work In The Classroom

IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State's equestrian team featured 15 student-athletes on the 2017 Academic All-Big 12 Equestrian squad, it was announced today by the league office.
Among those 15 student-athletes, 12 are first-team members, while three earned second-team honors. OSU's Jordan Langan and Brenna Brawner were the only student-athletes nominated with a 4.0 GPA.
Carly Barrick, Alexa Beaty, Mia Bray, Kirsten Chamberland, Elizabeth Collins, Maggie Drysch, Ebba Lange, Langan, Kendall Pedigo, Julia Purus and Miranda Reed represented OSU as first-team selections. Danielle Cohen, Jorden Davis and Katie Jones were named to the second team.
First-team nominees must have a 3.2 GPA or higher and second-team members must maintain a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify for Academic All-Big 12, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
The Cowgirls will travel to the Big 12 Championships in Waco, Texas on March 24-25.
