Six Cowgirls Earn ITA Individual Rankings

STILLWATER – Six members of the Oklahoma State women's tennis team make appearances in the latest national singles and doubles rankings released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Wednesday. OSU boasts six players ranked in singles, tying Florida for the most of any school, along with a pair of ranked doubles teams.

Senior Viktoriya Lushkova ties her career-high ranking this week, moving up one spot to No. 10, which also ties a program high. Lushkova has posted a 13-4 overall record thus far into her final collegiate season, and owns a 3-0 dual mark competing in the top singles spot for OSU. With 86 career singles wins, Lushkova is currently third on the Big 12 era program career list, and only 11 wins away from sealing the No. 1 spot.

Vladica Babic comes in at No. 33 in this week's singles rankings after getting off to a 3-0 start in dual action. The junior is 10-2 overall on the season and a perfect 3-0 against ranked opponents.

Senior Carla Tur Mari will enter the ITA Indoor Championships as the 42nd-ranked player in the country. Having accumulated a 12-3 overall record this year and a 3-0 dual mark, Tur Mari has won 84 singles matches in her career, which is good for fourth in the program's Big 12 era record book.

Katarina Adamovic jumped 12 spots to No. 56 in this week's poll. The Cowgirl senior has gone 10-4 in singles action this season with a 3-0 mark in dual play, competing primarily in the No. 2 spot.

Sophomore Sofia Blanco was a big mover in the rankings as well, moving from No. 106 in the previous poll to No. 77 this week. Blanco is 13-4 overall during the 2016-17 campaign with a 3-1 dual record.

Freshman Lena Ruppert makes her first appearance in the rankings this week, coming in at No. 86. Ruppert has been impressive in her first five starts as a Cowgirl, racking up five straight-set victories to boost her overall mark on the season to 14-2.

Babic and Tur Mari come in at No. 5 in this week's ITA doubles rankings, marking a career high for either Cowgirl. The ranking is also tied as the third-highest by any OSU doubles team. Since teaming up for the ITA Central Regional Championships in the fall, the Cowgirl tandem has posted a 12-2 overall record with a 3-1 mark against ranked foes. Babic also appears at No. 21 in the doubles rankings with Katarina Adamovic.

Oklahoma State is set to make its third-straight appearance at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships this weekend in New Haven, Conn. Play at the event is scheduled to get underway Friday, as the third-seeded Cowgirls will take on Ole Miss at 9 a.m. ET.
