Cowgirls Fall Short at Baylor, 15-4

WACO, Texas – The Oklahoma State Equestrian team lost a tough road contest against No. 1 Baylor, 15-4, in Waco, Texas, on Saturday.
The Cowgirls earned one Most Outstanding Performer award as Freshman Hannah Mitchell won the honor in Reining.
Mitchell gave the Cowgirls one of their two Reining points with a 68-65 win over BU's Charlotte Green. Mitchell is now 5-1 on the season, winning her last five matchups in the Reining arena. Alexa Beaty also won her Reining point as BU's Ginger Chant failed to beat her score of a 65.5.
Carly Barrick provided the Cowgirls with their lone point in Equitation over Fences, beating BU's Shannon Hogue, 79-75, the highest score in that event.
Junior Kirsten Chamberland also won her point in Horsemanship, defeating BU's Kaylee Mellott, 71.5-68.
The loss drops the Cowgirls to 4-2 on the season and 2-1 in Big 12 Conference play. OSU next heads to South Dakota State for a matchup on Feb. 10.
