Cowgirl Soccer: Rewind & A Look Ahead

Oklahoma State is coming off a semifinal appearance at the Big 12 Conference Championship last weekend in Kansas City, and the Big 12 regular season champions will continue postseason play in the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship this week. The Cowgirls will host Missouri State in an NCAA first-round match Saturday at noon.

OSU's berth in the NCAA Championship is the 11^th in program history and marks the second-straight year and fourth time in the last five years the Cowgirls have made the NCAA tourney.
The Cowgirls have earned NCAA bids in 10 of the last 12 years, including six in a row from 2006-11.
OSU is 9-7-4 all time at the NCAA Soccer Championship. The Cowgirls have not advanced out of the first round in each of their last three appearances following back-to-back Elite Eight runs in 2010 and 2011.
OSU owns a 16-3-2 record on the year, with the .810 winning percentage ranking as the 15^th best in the NCAA this season. The 16 wins are the fifth most in a season in program history and most by a Cowgirl team since the 2011 squad posted a program-record 22.
OSU's only losses this season are to nationally ranked California and West Virginia on the road and a neutral-site setback against Baylor in the Big 12 Championship semifinals.
OSU won the third Big 12 Conference regular season championship in program history by completing the league schedule with an 8-1-0 record after being picked in the preseason to finish sixth in the standings. The Cowgirls outscored their opponents 16-5 in conference play and recorded four shutouts.
OSU now has six Big 12 championships in its history, with three regular season and three tournament titles.
The Cowgirls are 9-0-0 on their home field in 2017. OSU has only gone unbeaten and untied on its home field once in program history, that coming in 2008 when the Cowgirls were 10-0-0.
OSU opened the Big 12 Championship with a 2-1 win over Oklahoma last Wednesday to advance to the tourney semifinals for the first time since 2013.
With the win over OU, the Cowgirls finished the season 3-0 against their Bedlam rival in 2017. It marks the second time in program history OSU has beaten the Sooners three times in a season, and OSU is now 23-8-3 all time against OU.
Anna Beffer notched a pair of assists in the game vs. OU to move into a tie for the NCAA lead in that category this season.

OSU has outscored its opponents 44-17 on the season, and 13 different Cowgirls have recorded goals. Twelve of those players have multiple goals, led by Haley Woodard's eight.
The Cowgirls' 44 goals ranks 17^th nationally, and OSU is also 26^th in the NCAA with 123 points and 29^th in scoring offense at 2.10 goals per game.
The Cowgirls lead the Big 12 in goals, assists (35) and points.

This week marks the 11^th straight that OSU has appeared in the national rankings. The Cowgirls check in as high as No. 14 by Soccer America, while they are ranked 17^th by the United Soccer Coaches and 18^th in the TopDrawerSoccer.com poll.
Anna Beffer is tied for the NCAA lead with her career-high 12 assists. The total ranks tied for fourth on OSU's single-season list, while her 21 career assists is tied for fifth in program history.
Beffer is currently tied atop the NCAA assists list with Georgetown's Rachel Corboz and Minnesota's April Bockin. Georgetown will play in the NCAA Championship, while Minnesota's season is over.
Beffer also has four goals this season and leads the Big 12 with 20 points.
Haley Woodard is tied for the Big 12 lead with her career-best eight goals, while her 19 points are tied for second.
Woodard has eight goals in 16 games this season, with her 0.50 goals per game leading the Big 12.
A junior forward who was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, Woodard posted a conference-best four goals and nine points in Big 12 play this season.
In conference-only games, senior goalie Michela Ongaro led the Big 12 in with a .900 save percentage.
Ongaro has recorded 75 saves on the season, with 45 of those coming in OSU's nine conference games.
Four of Ongaro's five shutouts this season came in Big 12 play (vs. TCU, Baylor, Texas Tech and Texas).
Freshman Taylor Olson is tied for fifth in the Big 12 with six goals, a total that also marks the most goals by an OSU freshman since Courtney Dike's 13 in 2013.
Jaci Jones' career-high five assists this season is tied for fourth in the Big 12.

Missouri State is 10-9-1 on the season and captured the Missouri Valley Conference Championship title to earn the league's automatic NCAA tourney bid.
The Bears are unbeaten in their last six games (5-0-1) and have posted five shutouts while allowing only one goal during that span.

The winner of the Oklahoma State-Missouri State match will advance to next week's second round and will face the Duke-UNC Greensboro winner on Friday, Nov. 17.
