Cowgirls Bow Out at Dickie V Clay Court Classic

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – The Oklahoma State women's tennis team wrapped up its fall season Saturday, as Marina Guinart and Katarina Stresnakova bowed out of the Dickie V Clay Court Classic.
The Cowgirl duo came up short in the doubles semifinals, dropping an 8-3 match to UCF's Monica Matias and Natalia Serrano. The pair finish up a 4-2 fall season together.
Guinart split her two singles matches to finish off her first fall as a Cowgirl with a 9-3 mark. The newcomer dropped Serrano in three sets, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, to advance to the semis where she was defeated, 7-5, 6-1, by top-seeded Josie Kuhlman of Florida.
Stresnakova also split her two matches in consolation play, beating South Florida's Alexandra Mjos, 6-2, 6-3 before coming up short, 10-7, in a decisive third-set super tiebreaker to Julia Ascui. Stresnakova finishes off her fall season at 7-4.
The Cowgirls will open up the spring season on Jan. 20 with a doubleheader against Oral Roberts and Abilene Christian.
