STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team improved to 3-0 on the year with an 80-38 victory over UT Rio Grande Valley on Friday night of 1,441 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The Cowgirls shot just 33 percent in the first half, However, OSU held UTRGV (3-1) to single-digit scoring quarters in the first and second en route to a 35-18 lead at the break.
OSU took control of the game in the third, outscoring the Vaqueros 24-5 in the period. For the game, the Cowgirls tallied 20 steals and held UTRGV to a 27.4 percent shooting night.
Once again, senior Loryn Goodwin filled the stat sheet for the Cowgirls, finishing with 16 points, seven rebounds and seven steals to go with a pair of assists.
Senior Kaylee Jensen tallied her first double-double of the year, finishing with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Sophomore Areanna Combs rounded out OSU's trio of double-figure scorers, finishing with 10 points to go with seven assists and six steals.
The Cowgirls will conclude their four-game homestand on Sunday when they host Northwestern State at 1 p.m.
