Three Cowgirls Earn ITA Individual Rankings

STILLWATER – Three members of the Oklahoma State women's tennis team earned individual rankings in the latest singles and doubles polls released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Wednesday.

Senior Vladica Babic reached the highest singles ranking of her career as she jumped 22 spots to come in at No. 21. Babic wraps up an impressive fall in which she went 10-2 in singles in a trio of tournaments to go along with ITA Central Region titles in both singles and doubles. The Montenegro product finished off her fall season with an appearance in the round of 16 at the ITA Fall National Championships where she knocked off the event's top seed Anna Danilina of Florida.

Newcomer Marina Guinart made her first appearance in the poll as a Cowgirl, coming in at No. 63 in singles. Guinart went 9-3 in her first fall season since coming to Stillwater, which she capped off by advancing to the semifinals at the Dickie V Clay Court Classic.

After an 8-4 fall season that included a pair of top-10 wins, Babic and Sofia Blanco come in at No. 20 in the latest doubles rankings. The Cowgirl duo's fall was highlighted by a 6-0 week at the ITA Central Region Championships to win the program's fourth regional doubles title.

The Cowgirls will open up the spring season on Jan. 20 in Stillwater with a doubleheader against Oral Roberts and Abilene Christian.
