STILLWATER - The Oklahoma State football team will watching all of college football's action from the couch this week, but that hasn't stopped the discussion about the current crop of Cowboys among local and national media.
After a 16-yard touchdown run by Mason Rudolph lifted Oklahoma State to a 41-34 victory over Texas Tech last weekend, The Oklahoman's Scott Wright talked with Zach Crabtree about the Cowboys' gutty performance. Crabtree was named the Cowboys' offensive player of the game after returning from injury and helping anchor the offensive line throughout.
John Helsley, also of The Oklahoman, wrote about defensive tackle Darrion Daniels' vibrant personality and the energy that he brings to the Cowboy football team. Several of Daniels' teammates joined in on the discussion about the junior's antics, which includes his former roommate, Jordan Brailford.
""You'll walk in on some funny moments," Brailford said, "him singing or dancing or doing something goofy. But he was a good roommate, for the most part."
Wrapping up this week's coverage, the Tulsa World's Kendrick Marshall discussed the element of surprise in quarterback Mason Rudolph's rushing ability. The most notable of these "surprise" rushes came this past weekend when Rudolph scampered into the endzone untouched from 16 yards out to put Oklahoma State back on top of Texas Tech, 41-34.
The Cowboys may be off this week, but that hasn't stopped the discussion about this year's group. OSU will return to action next weekend against Baylor for the Homecoming game. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Fox Sports 1.
