Babic and Blanco Bow Out of Main Draw at Riviera

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – The Oklahoma State doubles tandem of Vladica Babic and Sofia Blanco came up just short of advancing to the round of 16 at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships Thursday afternoon at the Riviera Country Club.
Matched up against the 60th-ranked duo of Duke's Samantha Harris and Kelly Chen, the Cowgirls went to a tiebreaker to decide the match; however, Harris and Chen came up on top of a narrow, 8-6 tiebreakers to win the match, 8-7.
Babic and Blanco aren't done just yet, as they'll move to the consolation bracket which begins on Friday morning. The pair will face the No. 7 team of Hadley Berg and Paige Cline of South Carolina at 8 a.m.
Babic is no stranger to Berg or Cline, as she teamed up with former Cowgirl Katarina Adamovic to defeat the then-No. 7 Gamecock duo, 8-2 in consolation play as well.
The winners of the consolation draw will receive an automatic bid to the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships.
