Nine Reasons Why OSU's Win Over Baylor Mattered

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State football team improved to 5-1 with a 59-16 win over Baylor Saturday afternoon. The Cowboys set a school record for total offense in a game with 747 yards while recording a 400-yard passer, two 100-yard receivers and a 100-yard rusher for just the fourth time in school history. Some other key notes on the win:
Following the win, Oklahoma State…
• Has started 5-1 or better eight times during the Mike Gundy era.
• Is 20-16 in its all-time series with Baylor.
• Has won 17 of its last 22 games vs. BU and 12 of its last 13 home games vs. BU.
• Is 8-5 against Baylor under Mike Gundy.
• Has won 13 of its last 15 games overall.
• Is 57-6 in its last 63 games vs. unranked opponents, dating to 2010.
• Has won 23 of its last 24 games when playing as a ranked team against an unranked opponent.
• Is 65-40 in conference games under Mike Gundy.
• Is 46-19 in Big 12 Conference games since 2010.

Offense
Mason Rudolph | Quarterback | 6-5 | 230 | Senior | Rock Hill, SC
-Threw for 459 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions on 19-for-31 passing.
-Added a rushing touchdown.
-Finished with a passer rating of 217.6.
-Averaged 14.81 yards per attempt and 24.16 yards per completion today, both second most in a game in OSU history.
-Now responsible for at least four touchdowns in five of six games this season. He entered the game leading the nation in touchdowns responsible for.
-Improved his streak of 300-yard passing games to seven. UCLA's Josh Rosen entered Saturday with a seven-game streak as well, marking the two longest active streaks in the nation.
-Rudolph's passing total marked his seventh career 400-yard passing game, which ties the school record set by Brandon Weeden.
-Now has 18 career games with at least 300 yards passing, improving a school record he already owned.
-Entered the game leading the nation with 17 30-plus yard completions this season and added seven such passes against Baylor to bring his season total to 24.
-Has now scored at least one rushing touchdown in five of OSU's six games this season.
-Helped two different receivers surpass 100-yards for the fourth consecutive game.

-Forced two fumbles in OSU's win over Baylor to tie an OSU single-game record.
-Immediately following an OSU muffed punt, with OSU trailing 7-0, Phillips sacked Baylor QB Zach Smith for a loss of 8 yards while forcing a fumble and giving the ball back to the Cowboys for a scoring drive.
-Finished with six tackles and five solo stops.
-Finished with 2.5 tackles for loss.
Special Teams
Matt Ammendola | Kicker | 5-9 | 195 | R-Sophomore | Lansdale, PA
-Made his only field goal attempt of the game with a 40-yarder in the third quarter.
-Improved to 4-of-5 on the year when kicking field goals from 40 yards or more.
-Was a perfect 8-for-8 on PAT attempts to stay perfect on the year.
-Kicked off nine times with four touchbacks.
-With his directional kicking, Baylor averaged just 14.2 yards per return on his other six kickoffs.

-Rushed nine times for 47 yards and a touchdown.
-Scored 37 second before halftime with a leaping, one yard run over the pile to cap an eight-play, 69-yard drive as OSU established a 35-10 halftime lead.
-Part of an OSU ground attack that surpassed 200 yards rushing for the third time in six games this season.
