Field Set for Stillwater USTA Pro Circuit Event

STILLWATER – The field for next week's USTA Pro Circuit Collegiate Series event at the Greenwood Tennis Center. A handful of Cowgirls are set to compete in the tournament, which begins Sunday, Sept. 25 at 9:30 a.m..
Oklahoma State's Katarina Adamovic, Viktoriya Lushkova and Vladica Babic received wild cards from the tournaments. Sofia Blanco, Lena Ruppert and Katarina Stresnakova will compete in the qualifying draw, based on their rankings, with freshman Aliona Bolsova and Carla Tur Mari receiving qualifying wild cards.
Former Cowgirls Kelsey Laurente and Alisa Buslayeva received qualifying wild cards as well.
Adamovic enters 2016-17 ranked as the No. 10 singles player in college tennis, and is looking to build on a breakout junior season in which she went 23-11 overall in singles and 32-3 overall in doubles, while advancing to the quarterfinals at the NCAA Singles Championships to earn her first-career All-American honor.
A two-time All-American, Lushkova looks for a good start to her senior season. Last year, she tallied a 32-5 overall record in singles and a 34-7 overall mark in doubles with Tur Mari. With 74 singles wins, Tur Mari enters her senior season as the program's active leader in singles wins.
Blanco and Ruppert are coming off the first events of their collegiate careers last weekend, both going 3-0 in singles at the ITA Grass Court Invitational in Newport, R.I. Stresnakova enters her sophomore year after posting a 12-6 dual mark in singles last spring. Fans will get their first look at freshman Aliona Bolsova, who has career-high rankings of No. 459 in singles and No. 377 in doubles by the WTA.
Ranked No. 26 in the ITA singles rankings, Babic opened her junior fall season last weekend at the ITA Grass Court Invitational and picked up a pair of ranked wins to move to 10-6 over ranked opponents in her career.
Aside from the Cowgirls, the field features four players ranked in the top 300 of the world rankings and 19 players in the top 500, including Barbora Stefkova, who is ranked No. 170 in the ITF world rankings and No. 167 in the WTA world rankings.
Stanford's Carol Zhao is among the list of non-Cowgirl former collegiate players in the field. Zhao was the Cardinal's top singles player last season, and finished the the 2016 season ranked No. 24 in the ITA singles rankings.
The field also features Danielle Collins, a two-time NCAA singles champion at Virginia, as well as ITA All-Americans Ronit Yurovsky and Emina Bektas.
Oklahoma native Lindsey Lee Waters will be competing at the event as well. Waters reached a career high ranking of No. 43 in 1996 at the age of 19. She has over 250 career singles wins on the WTA tour.
Current non-Cowgirl collegiate players set to compete at the event include Biance Turati (Texas), Gabriela Talaba (Texas Tech) and Anna Turati (Texas).
