MACON, Ga. – Oklahoma State recorded its first win of the season Sunday with a 3-0 triumph over Mercer at Bear Field.

The Cowgirls concluded opening weekend with a 1-0-1 mark after a dominant performance against Mercer (1-1-0) that saw OSU outshoot the home team by a 22-3 margin. Courtney Dike, Holly Brehmer and Niki McKnight recorded goals in the match.

OSU needed just 72 seconds to take a lead it never surrendered as Dike gathered a pass in the box from Marlo Zoller and sent a low shot to the far post for her second goal of the season.

The Cowgirls doubled their advantage just before intermission. McKnight beat her defender and delivered a shot from the top of the box that Mercer goalie Cristina Mursuli saved but was unable to secure. Brehmer was there for the rebound and tap in to record her first goal of the season and give OSU a 2-0 lead.

McKnight collected her first goal of the year in the 72nd minute as she delivered a ball from the right corner of the box that found the back of the net on the far post.

Michela Ongaro and Dani Greenlee combined for the shutout in goal, with Greenlee playing the final 16:30. Ongaro recorded OSU's lone save in the match.

All 20 Cowgirls that traveled to Georgia saw significant minutes in the match, with no field player in the game for more than 70 minutes.

OSU returns to action Friday with a non-conference Bedlam showdown against Oklahoma in Norman before their home opener Sunday vs. Oral Roberts.
