Cowgirl Tennis Earns Academic Honors

TEMPE, Ariz. — Oklahoma State's women's tennis squad was honored for its work in the classroom with the announcement of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's 2016 Academic Awards last week.
As a team, the Cowgirls received the ITA All-Academic Team award, which is open to any ITA program with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above. All varsity letter winners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
Individually, five members of the squad achieved ITA Scholar-Athlete status with Sofia Blanco, Alexis Lucas, Viktoriya Lushkova, Katarina Stresnakova and Carla Tur Mari all receiving the honor.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
