July 13, 2016 | Cowgirl Softball
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Oklahoma State's Rylee Bayless was recognized by the NJCAA Executive Committee on Wednesday with her naming as the 2015-16 Betty Jo Graber Female Student-Athlete of the Year.
Bayless, a junior, joins the Cowgirls from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College.
"I'm excited for Rylee," Oklahoma State coach Kenny Gajewski said. "It's an award she's obviously earned. She's won so many different awards and this is just more icing on the cake for her. Rylee is a kid we're expecting a lot from. We're just happy she's going to be apart of the OSU family."
The honor is one of numerous accolades Bayless has garnered over the past month.
In June, she was named the Dudley NJCAA Division I Softball Player of the Year for the second consecutive year, becoming the first-ever player in all three divisions of NJCAA softball to receive the award twice. Bayless was also named a first-team All-American selection for the second consecutive year.
Bayless established herself as one of the most productive offensive players across all levels of collegiate softball the past two seasons.
She led the country with 118 hits and a .621 batting average. She also topped the leaderboards with her .703 on-base percentage and 111 runs scored.
Bayless' 1.163 slugging percentage, bolstered by 26 doubles, four triples and 23 home runs were also the highest in the nation.
