Cowgirls Set To Host 2017 ITA Kick-Off Weekend

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State women's tennis will serve as host for the ITA Kick-Off Weekend for the second-straight year, as the Cowgirls earned a No. 1-seed, which was announced by the ITA on Thursday.
The Cowgirls will host Wichita State, TCU and Cornell at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center on Jan. 28-29. OSU will open the weekend by taking on Cornell on Jan. 28 at 3 p.m., while Wichita State and TCU will play at 9 a.m. in the first match of the day.
The winners of those matches will face each other at 1 p.m. on Jan. 29 in the championship match, while the two other teams will meet in the consolation match at 10 a.m. inside the Greenwood Tennis Center.
The winner of the tournament will secure a spot at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships on Feb. 10-13, which will be hosted by Yale University.
OSU did not surrender a single point while hosting the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in 2016, as the Cowgirls shutout Notre Dame and Northwestern.
The Cowgirls defeated both Wichita State and TCU during the 2016 season. OSU earned a 6-1 victory against the Shockers on in January at the Greenwood Tennis Center. The Cowgirls defeated TCU 4-1 to clinch a share of the Big 12 Championship in April.
The Cowboy tennis team will host the ITA Kick-Off Weekend for the first time in 2017, as they will be in action on Jan. 27-28.
