Jordan Niebrugge Named Scholar-Athlete of the Year

IRVING, Texas — Oklahoma State's Jordan Niebrugge has been named the Big 12 Men's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year it was announced today by the league office.
An entrepreneurship major with a 3.64 grade point average, the honor adds to an impressive list of academic credentials for Niebrugge. He was named OSU's Scholar-Athlete of the Year this past spring and has been named a first-team Academic All-Big 12 pick on three occasions. Additionally, he was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-American Scholar last year.
On the course, Niebrugge was named an all-conference pick for the fourth time this past spring. The Mequon, Wis., native had three top-five showings this past season, including a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Stillwater Regional.
The Big 12 Conference established its Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award in 2012-13. A recipient is named in each of the Conference's sponsored sports. Each Big 12 institution nominates one individual per sport with the winners selected by a vote of the league's head coaches for that sport.
The nominee must be a junior or senior (athletic and academic standing) with a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher. They must have also participated in at least 60 percent of the team's scheduled contests with a minimum of one year in residence at the institution.
