Multiple Cowgirls Jump In Final ITA Rankings

STILLWATER, Okla. – Multiple members of the Oklahoma State women's tennis team improved their positions in the final Oracle ITA individual rankings, which were released on Wednesday.
Katarina Adamovic is the highest ranked Cowgirl in singles at No. 17, after defeating six-straight top 25 opponents during the NCAA Tennis Championships. The junior defeated No. 5 Ellen Perez of Georgia twice, as well as knocking off the Nos. 9, 15, 16 and 20.
Adamovic jumped 30 spots from her No. 47 ranking on May 5. The Cowgirl finished the season with a 23-10 record.
Vladica Babic jumped four spots to No. 40 after defeated two ranked opponents during the NCAA Championship. The sophomore defeated No. 22 Kennedy Shaffer of Georgia in the Cowgirls' round of 16 match against Georgia. Babic defeated No. 96 Anna Sanford of Ohio State in the quarterfinals.
Babic recorded 17 wins during the spring season for OSU.
Viktoriya Lushkova finishes the season ranked No. 58 in the singles rankings. The two-time All-American wrapped up the season with 27 wins and only one loss during the spring season.
Lushkova climb eight spots from her previous ranking of No. 66.
The Cowgirls finished the season with the best doubles record of any team in the country, as they only lost the doubles point once during the season.
Seniors Maria Alvarez and Kelsey Laurente finish the season ranked No. 30, after being unranked before the season started. The seniors defeated 12-ranked Miho Kowase and Anna Sanford of Ohio State and knocked off No. 11 Taylor Davidson and Caroline Doyle in the national championship match.
Adamovic and Babic improved 20 spots to No. 59 after winning all four of their doubles matches during the team portion of the NCAA Tennis Championship. The duo finished 28-1 in dual matches.
Carla Tur Mari and Lushkova end the season ranked No. 62 in doubles. The junior tandem accounted for 27 doubles victories, while primarily playing the No. 2 position for the Cowgirls.
