Babic Named ITA Player to Watch

TEMPE, Ariz. – Oklahoma State sophomore Vladica Babic has been named as the ITA Central Region Player to Watch, it was announced by the ITA on Monday.
The award is given to a player who has yet to win an ITA regional tournament and is one of the highest ranked players in the region, as well as nationally.
Babic is currently ranked No. 44 nationally in singles and No. 79 in doubles along with partner Katarina Adamovic.
The Podgorica, Montenegro native has won 24 singles matches this season, including the Dick Vitale Clay Court Classic during the fall. Babic also clinched the first Big 12 Championship since 2003 for the Cowgirls with a victory against Texas Tech.
The regional awards are voted on by a committee of select coaches from the region.
OSU will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tennis Championships May 13-15 at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center. The Cowgirls will host Albany at 1 p.m. on May 13.
