Last Time Out
OSU sent Kaylee Dodd, Clara Nichols, Anna Boyert and Edwards to the track for the relay, and the Pokes finished in 8:26.34, just three-tenths of a second off the first place time.
Edwards took the baton from Boyert with the Cowgirls in fifth place, and ran the fastest 800 of the day to bring the Cowgirls to within striking distance before running out of track on the home stretch.
The 4X800 came just two days after the Cowgirls took second in the distance medley relay with a time of 11:17.94.
In the DMR, the Cowgirls led off with Savannah Camacho in the 1,200-meter leg, then Nichols took the baton for the 400, Dodd for the 800 and Edwards took the mile anchor leg.
The Cowboys finished fourth in the DMR Friday, with Matthew Fayers, Tyler Jackson, Tre'Tez Kinnaird and Josh Thompson taking to the track for OSU.
The Cowboys came away with two wins, both from the sprinters, while the Cowgirls took wins in the 800 and shot put in Kansas.
Sharod Selph had a hand in both of the men's victories Saturday, taking the gold in the 100-meter dash with a 10.61 then running the anchor leg for the winning Cowboy 4X100-meter team.
Abbie Hetherington had one of the two Cowgirl wins at Kansas. She won the 800 in 2:08.54, beating the second-place finisher by a second. The time puts the Hetherington just outside the top-10 in the conference, but OSU is well represented on the list, now holding five of the top-12 places and the top two.
All-American Chase Ealey had the other win on the day, adding to her astounding outdoor season. Her throw of 16.97m/55-8.25 on her second attempt was good enough to take the crown.
Arlando Brewer-Johnson continued his steady improvement, topping his second personal best in as many weeks. This time, Brewer-Johnson ran a 21.59 in the 200-meter dash for a new career best.
Aurora Dybedokken jumped into the Cowgirl top-10 for the 1,500-meter run with her win out west. The sophomore ran a 4:19.22 to take the heat and climb into third in the Big 12.
Section one of the women's steeplechase produced some of the fastest collegiate times of the year and OSU record-holder Ingeborg Loevnes had one of them.
Although she finished fifth overall, she was the second-fastest collegiate finisher with a 9:50.67, two seconds off her personal best.
The mark leads the Big 12 by more than 30 seconds, and is fifth in the nation and second in the West Region.
In the final race of the day, under the lights at Cobb Track, Monika Juodeskaite ran the 12th-best 10,000-meter time in the NCAA, crossing the finish line in 33:23.93.
She finished 15th in the second section, and her time gives her the third-best in school history as well as the No. 2 time in the Big 12.
Â
A Look Back
At last season's Arkansas Twilight, OSU put up seven personal bests in Fayetteville in the penultimate regular season meet.
Abbie Hetherington and Anna Boyert both set then personal bests in the 800 and finished first and second in the race, respectively.
Katie Kehl took home a win in the discus throw, and Itamar Levi won the shot put competition.
Decathlete Cole Verble set a personal best in the 100-meter hurdles and finished fourth, while five of the seven Cowboys entered in the 1,500-meter run finished in the top-10.
Â
Home Away From Home
This year, Oklahoma State has competed at John McDonnell Field at the University of Arkansas twice. At those competitions, the Pokes have recorded nine top-10 Big 12 marks for 2016, the second most at a facility for OSU behind Cobb Track in Palo Alto, California, where OSU has competed three times and posted 11 marks.
At the Arkansas Spring Invitational back in late March, Simon Imagbe and Cole Verble grabbed a ninth-place spot in the conference in the long jump and decathlon, respectively for the Cowboys, while Chase Ealey threw the Big 12-leading mark in the women's shot put.
The last time coach Dave Smith's squad went to Fayetteville, John Teeters, Arlando Brewer-Johnson, Brigham Hedges, Donovan Nunley, Luis Martinez and Anna Boyert jumped into the conference top-10 for their respective events, giving OSU the nine spots from Arkansas competitions alone.
Overall, the Pokes have amassed 32 top-10 conference marks.
Â
Cowgirls Vault Into Top-20
For the first time this outdoor season, the Oklahoma State Cowgirl track and field team appeared in the top-20 of the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll.
With the jump to 18, the Cowgirls have now been ranked in the top-25 for 15 of the last 16 weeks, dating back to the beginning of the 2015 outdoor season. They are also the fourth-highest ranked Big 12 team behind top-10 squads Kansas State and Texas, and in-state rival Oklahoma at 15.
The three-spot leap came after a weekend where three Cowgirls ran top-50 NCAA times at the Payton Jordan Invitational.
Ingeborg Loevnes led the way, making into a second top-50 list, this time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with the No. 5 time in the event. Aurora Dybedokken's 1,500-meter time gave her the No. 32 time and Monika Juodeskaite's 10,000-meter time is 14th in the country.
 Â
Season Sweep?
The Cowboy track and field team is in a unique position heading into the outdoor season.
For just the second time in conference history, a team has the opportunity to sweep the cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field Big 12 Championships. The only other team in Big 12 history to be in this position was the 2013-14 Cowboy squad that finished third at the outdoor championships.
The task will not be easy, though. After finishing third at indoors in 2015, the Cowboys finished sixth at last year's outdoor championships, scoring 69 points and bringing home three individual titles, including the 10K, 5K and 1,500-meter championships.
If OSU can pull off the unprecedented, it will not just be its first Big 12 outdoor title in school history, but its first team title since 1957, when the school was still Oklahoma A&M.
The Pokes' highest finish at the outdoor championships since joining the Big 12 is the third-place finish from 2014, but OSU did nab back-to-back runners-up finishes in the Big 8 back in 1959 and 1960.
