Shippy Named Academic All-American

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State softball's Vanessa Shippy was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-American third team, it was announced today.
The Idaho native is the first Cowgirl to be named an Academic All-American since Chelsea Garcia in 2012.
Shippy, a sophomore, is majoring in marketing and finance and earned a 3.91 GPA.
On the field, Shippy helped lead the Cowgirls to the championship game of the Georgia Regional against the host Bulldogs.
She led the Big 12 with her .425 batting average on her way to being named the Co-Big 12 Player of the Year.
