Cowgirls Earn Academic All-Big 12 Honors

IRVING, Texas – Six members of the Oklahoma State women's tennis team earned Academic-All Big 12 honors, the league announced on Wednesday.
For the second-straight season, Viktoriya Lushkova was named to the Academic-All Big 12 first team. Carla Tur Mari also earned her second-straight academic honor by being named to the first team. Sophomore Vladica Babic earned her first Academic-All Big 12 recognition by also being named to the first team.
Senior Kelsey Laurente also earned her first Academic-All Big 12 honor, as the fourth Cowgirl to be named to the first team.
Katarina Adamovic earned her first Academic-All Big 12 selection, as she was named to the second team.
Maria Alvarez earned the second academic honor of her Cowgirl career, as the senior was selected to the second team.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
The Cowgirls return to action this weekend as they travel to face Kansas State on Friday and Kansas on Sunday.
