Cowgirls Jump To No. 14 In ITA Rankings

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's tennis team jumped one spot to No. 14 in the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association, which was released on Tuesday.
The Cowgirls (19-4; 7-0 Big 12) clinched at least a share of the Big 12 Championship on Sunday against No. 34 TCU with a 4-1 victory. OSU also knocked off No. 17 Texas Tech on Friday inside the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center.
The Cowgirls have a chance to win the conference title outright against Kansas State on Friday.
OSU finished the regular season with an undefeated record at home (13-0), including nine shutouts.
The Cowgirls are the highest-ranked Big 12 team in the latest rankings; Texas Tech (No. 17) and Texas (No. 24) join the Pokes in the top 25.
All three Cowgirl doubles pairings are featured in the ITA rankings. Kelsey Laurente and Maria Alvarez continue to lead the way for OSU in the rankings, ranked No. 40, playing at the No. 1 position.
Carla Tur Mari and Viktoriya Lushkova, ranked No. 50, have compiled a 21-1 record in spring competition and have won eight-straight doubles matches.
Katarina Adamovic and Vladica Babic, ranked No. 63, are the third Cowgirl tandem featured by the ITA. Adamovic and Babic have won their last 10 doubles matches and clinched the doubles point in both Cowgirl matches over the weekend.
Babic leads the Cowgirls in singles, ranked No. 44. Babic has put together a 20-7 record, including a 10-5 mark in spring competition.
Adamovic moved up to No. 46 after defeating Marie Norris of TCU in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1.
Lushkova climbed two spots to No. 63 in the singles rankings. The All-American now has a 16-1 record in singles during spring competition.
The Cowgirls travel to Kansas for the final weekend of the season with matches against Kansas State on Friday and Kansas on Sunday.
