Cowgirls Wrap Up Spring With Win

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's spring exhibition season came to an end Saturday with a 1-0 win over SMU at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex.

With the victory, the Cowgirls conclude the spring with a 4-0-2 record.

"We're really pleased with how we did this spring and had good competition," said OSU head coach Colin Carmichael. "I thought with limited numbers, we played really well, and there's a lot of positives. Anytime you win games you're happy, and a lot of our kids who didn't play a whole lot during season really stepped up this spring. Moving forward, I think that's a real positive for us."

Saturday's match was a battle from the minute the clock began winding down, with constant action throughout the first period.

With the wind at their backs, the Cowgirls recorded the lone score in the opening half when Holly Brehmer delivered a beautiful cross to Anna Beffer who fell, recovered and drilled it into the back of the net for the goal.

The second half was full of shots on goal for both teams, none of which saw the net, as OSU held on for the win.
