Day 1 Results
ARDMORE, Okla. — Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a pair of 277s on Saturday during the first day of action at The Maxwell to stand in a tie for third place at Dornick Hills Golf and Country Club.
The Cowboys' 6-under total of 554 tied them with New Mexico at the par-70, 6,586-yard layout. Baylor finished the day in second at 8-under 552, while Texas carded a 270 during its second round to move to the top of the leaderboard at 547.
UT's Gavin Hall posted rounds of 66 and 68 to stand at 6-under 134 and two shots clear of the field in the individual race.
Competing individually, OSU sophomore Stratton Nolen fired a 66 during his morning round before carding a 71 during afternoon play to stand at 137 and tied for fourth place.
Kristoffer Ventura posted rounds of 68 and 70 to lead the Cowboy starting five. The sophomore's 138 total tied him for seventh place.
Junior Wyndham Clark came in a stroke back at 139 with scores of 68 and 71 and tied for 12th place.
Senior Jordan Niebrugge posted a pair of 70s to stand at even-par 140 and tied for 16th place, while sophomore Brendon Jelley followed an opening 74 with a 66 to move into a tie for 16th place at 140.
Freshman Zach Bauchou came in tied for 49th at 146 with rounds of 71 and 75.
In addition to Nolen, four other Cowboys are competing in the event individually.
Redshirt freshman Hayden Wood finished the day tied for 16th place at 140 with scores of 72 and 68.
Junior Zachary Olsen signed for rounds of 69 and 72 for a 141 total, tying him for 22nd place.
Sophomore Sam Stevens' 142 total included scores of 72 and 70 and knotted him for 26th place.
Redshirt freshman Nick Heinen carded rounds of 70 and 73 for a 143 total to finish in a tie for 28th place.
