Peters Named Big 12 Equestrian Scholar-Athlete Of The Year

IRVING, Tex. – Oklahoma State equestrian senior Justine Peters has been selected as the 2016 Big 12 Conference Equestrian Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the league announced today.
Peters carries a perfect 4.0 grade point average while majoring in nutritional sciences/applied health. She has previously been represented with a 4.0 GPA on the 2016 and 2014 Academic All-Big 12 Equestrian First Team and the 2013 Big 12 Academic All-Rookie Team. She is also a 2015 NCEA Academic Honor Roll member.
In the arena, Peters is enjoying another successful season and participated in all of OSU's competitions this season to help the Cowgirls claim the 2016 Big 12 Equestrian championship. The Dalton, Nebraska native has posted a 7-5-1 individual record on the season and has been a driving force in the Cowgirls' 8-1-4 season record in Reining.
In 2014, Peters was named to the NCEA All-America Reining First Team.
Peters and the Cowgirls are in action Friday when they take on the winner of Texas A&M and Fresno State at the NCEA National Championship at the Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas.
