Cowgirl Tennis Picked Second In Preseason Poll

IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State women's tennis team was selected to finish second in the 2016 Big 12 Conference standings in a preseason poll of the league's coaches, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday.
The Cowgirls received 76 points and four first-place votes. Only two points separate the Cowgirls and the poll leader Texas Tech.
This marks the second year in a row that the Cowgirls have been picked to finish second in the preseason poll. The Cowgirls are No. 10 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings.
OSU currently own 11 wins on the season, tying them with the Red Raiders for the most in the conference. The Cowgirls have nine wins against teams that have appeared in the ITA rankings.
Three Cowgirls are featured in the top 50 of the ITA singles rankings and three doubles pairings are in the top 40 of the rankings.
The Cowgirls have finished second in the conference standings in each of the last two seasons.
The Cowgirls are set to open conference play on March 19 as they take on West Virginia at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center.
