Cowgirls Win Exhibition Match At Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Oklahoma State returned to the pitch for its second exhibition match of the spring Saturday night and knocked off Texas A&M by a 3-1 margin at Ellis Field.

Haley Woodard continued her impressive spring as she netted OSU's first goal of the contest in the fourth minute. The goal was the freshman's third of the spring season and was assisted by Anna Beffer.

The Cowgirls went up 2-0 in the 31st minute when Tori Ruszkowski delivered the ball into the back of the net. Christina Jean-Charles and Courtney Dike recorded assists on the play as Jean-Charles took a free kick from 45-yards away, and Dike touched it to Ruszkowski, who sent it in from six-yards out.

After the Aggies trimmed OSU's lead to 2-1, Holly Brehmer recorded OSU's final goal of the night. That score came in the 58th minute when Brehmer scored off a spilled ball by the TAMU goalie following a hard shot by Marlo Zoller that was mishandled.

Michela Ongaro (60 minutes) and Ashton Hierholzer (30 minutes) saw action in goal for the Cowgirls.

OSU is now 2-0 on the spring season, with both matches resulting in 3-1 final scores.

The Cowgirls return to action March 26 at Tulsa.
