Cowboys Dip Into Seventh In Hawaii

Round 2 Results
KONA, Hawaii — Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a 283 during its second round at The Amer Ari Invitational on Friday to slip into seventh place at Waikoloa Kings' Course.
The Cowboys entered the day tied for fourth place before carding their 5-under score to stand at 11-under 565. UCLA posted a 272 at the par-72, 7,074-yard layout to move into first place at 551. Southern California finished the day in second place at 553.
A pair of Bruins finished the day atop the individual leaderboard with Jonathan Garrick and Cole Madey coming in a stroke ahead of the field at 9-under 135.
OSU's Zachary Olsen climbed five spots into a tie for third place after firing a 67 during his second round. The junior finished the day at 8-under 136 and tied with three other players. Olsen opened his day with a birdie at the par-5 second hole and added birdies at the fifth, sixth and ninth to turn at 4-under 32. He moved to 5-under for the day with a birdie at the 12th before carding his lone bogey of the round at the 13th. After four pars in a row, he added his sixth birdie of the day at the 18th hole.
Senior Jordan Niebrugge followed an opening 68 with a 72 to stand at 140 and tied for 18th place.
Redshirt freshman Nick Heinen posted a 73 to finish the day with a 144 total and tied for 39th place, while sophomore Brendon Jelley signed for a 71 to stand at 145 and tied for 46th place.
Sophomore Sam Stevens' 73 moved him into a tie for 92nd place at 151.
Competing individually, junior Wyndham Clark posted a 70 to finish at 143 and tied for 36th place and redshirt freshman Hayden Wood's 72 gave him a 151 total, tying him for 92nd place.
The Cowboys will close out the event tomorrow with their final round getting under underway at 7:30 a.m. (HST). OSU will be grouped with Oregon, Stanford and TCU.
