MORGANTOWN, W. Va. — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team closed out the road portion of its regular season on Saturday night with an 82-48 loss at the hands of West Virginia in front of 5,080 fans inside WVU Coliseum.
The Cowgirls fell to 20-8 overall and 10-7 in Big 12 play with the loss, while WVU improved to 22-8 and 11-6.
Leading by two in the first quarter, the Mountaineers closed the period on a 9-0 run over the final 2:42 to push the advantage into double digits for the first time at 22-11.
The Mountaineers took advantage of an OSU scoring drought, which spanned more than three and a half minutes in the second quarter to extend the advantage to 20 before taking a 46-24 lead at the break. WVU got 19 points in the half from Bria Holmes behind a 7-of-11 shooting effort from the floor.
OSU scored the first four points of the second half, but would get no closer.
For the game, WVU shot 55 percent from the floor and made 13 3-pointers, while holding the Cowgirls to a 28 percent clip.
Holmes finishes with a game-high 27 points.
Brittney Martin logged her 18th double-double of the year for OSU, finishing with 14 points and 16 rebounds.
The Cowboys will close out the regular season on Monday night when they host Kansas State at 8 p.m.
