Cowgirls Climb in Oracle/ITA Poll

Skillman, N.J. – The Oklahoma State women's tennis team moved up three spots to No. 11 in the latest Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, it was announced on Tuesday.
The Cowgirls (9-2; 0-0 Big 12) move up the polls came after a 4-0 victory against Washington on Saturday at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center.
The Cowgirls have two wins over opponents within the latest top-25, No. 19 Washington and No. 21 Wichita State. In those two matches, OSU outscored the Huskies and Shockers, 10-1.
Home court advantage has been a major factor for the Cowgirls. OSU is 7-0 in home matches so far this season.
OSU has been a staple in the top-15 of the Oracle/ITA rankings, as the Pokes have not been outside of the top-15 all season.
The Cowgirls are one of three Big 12 schools ranked within the top-25: Texas Tech (No. 8) and Kansas (No. 23).
Sophomore Vladica Babic is the highest-ranked Cowgirl in singles, checking in at No. 29.
Katarina Adamovic is featured at No. 33 in the latest singles rankings, playing at the No. 1 position for the Pokes.
Junior Viktoriya Lushkova rounds out singles for the Cowgirls at No. 47. Lushkova is undefeated in singles play this season.
All three Cowgirl doubles pairings are featured in the latest ITA rankings.
Seniors Maria Alvarez and Kelsey Laurente lead the way for the Pokes at No. 29.
Lushkova and partner Carla Tur Mari check in at No. 33 in the newest set of rankings.
Adamovic and Babic round out the doubles rankings at No. 39.
OSU is preparing to take part in the Blue Gray Classic this weekend, which will be held in Montgomery, Alabama.
