STILLWATER - The Oklahoma State softball team will kick off its 2016 season at the CenturyLink Classic in San Marcos, Texas, where the Cowgirls will open against Texas State on Friday. In total, OSU will take on four opponents in five contests during the competition, which can be followed via live stats (okstate.com) and live video (txstatebobcats.com).

What to Watch For
The 2016 Cowgirl softball squad boasts an entirely new look compared to last year's squad, which finished 21-31 overall and 3-13 in Big 12 play. First year head coach Kenny Gajewski and assistants Stacie Pestrak and Charlotte Morgan will look to commandeer an OSU team that showcases six seniors, seven newcomers and 13 letterwinners from the 2015 squad.
At the CenturyLink Classic, Oklahoma State will have the opportunity to debut its pair of transfer pitchers (Kacy Freeze and Shea Coats) as well as a quartet of freshmen. Highlighting the Cowgirls' senior class is outfielder Tiffany Mikkelson, who ventures into her final season only nine home runs short of setting a new career record at OSU.
After winning eight-consecutive season openers prior to 2015, Oklahoma State will look to start off the season on a winning note in Friday's contest against Texas State.
