Cowgirl Softball Picked To Finish Second In Big 12

Omaha, NE---- D1SoftballNews.com picked Oklahoma State Softball to finish second in its 2017 Big 12 preseason poll, it was announced today.Â

This would be the first time the Cowgirls, who finished fifth with a 6-11 Big 12 record in 2016, finished second or better since 2003 when Oklahoma State reached the NCAA Fullerton, Calif., Postseason Regional Final.Â

Oklahoma State returns 2016 Co-Big 12 Player of the Year Vanessa Shippy and a host of talent across the diamond that will look to build on last season's 32-26 overall record.  The Cowgirls reached the postseason last year in head coach Kenny Gajewski's first season and the first time since 2011.Â

The Cowgirls open the season on Feb. 10 in Baton Rouge, La., in the Tiger Classic against McNeese State.Â
