Midway through the second quarter, Coleman made OSU's seventh 3-pointer of the first half to cap off an 8-0 run that pushed the Cowgirls out to a 41-17 lead. OSU went on another 8-0 run to close out the half and go into the break up 49-20.
Coleman continued to show her range in the second half as she drained her third 3-pointer of the game. The Stockton, California native finished with 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting.
The Cowgirls' lead grew to as much as 38 in the second half as Wheeler and Coleman's 48 combined points helped to secure OSU's eighth straight win to open the season. In total, 10 different Cowgirls scored against UTRGV, including another double-digit outing from Jensen, who finished with 14 points.
Next up for the Cowgirls will be a trip to Las Vegas as they take part in the Play4Kay Shootout. The Cowgirls' first matchup of the event will be on December 19 at 7:30 p.m. when they take on Santa Clara.
