Cowgirls Finish Strong at SMU Red and Blue Challenge

DALLAS, Texas – The Oklahoma State women's tennis team finished play at the SMU Red and Blue Challenge Sunday afternoon, sweeping all seven of the day's matches to wrap up the weekend.

The day started in doubles, as Katarina Adamovic and Sofia Blanco were matched up with Loyola Marymount's Elvira Juraliova and Jessica Perez, and Katarina Stresnakova and Aliona Bolsova took on Marcelina Cichon and Mahitha Dadireddy of Tulsa. Adamovic and Blanco handled the Loyola Marymount pair, 6-2, in their match to move to 2-0 on the weekend as a pair. Stresnakova and Bolsova held off Cichon and Dadireddy, 6-4.

The Cowgirls carried over their strong play into singles, winning all five for the third-straight day.

Adamovic picked up a 6-3, 7-5 win over No. 64 Ksenia Laskutova in her final match of the weekend. Aliona Bolsova won a third consecutive straight-set match as well, knocking off Anna Romeka of Loyola Marymount, 6-2, 6-0.

Katarina Stresnakova tallied the 10th win of her sophomore campaign in a 6-2, 7-5, 6-2 triumph over Wichita State's Ting Ya-Hsu.

Sofia Blanco moved to 9-1 this fall with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Loyola Marymount's Camila Tumosa. Freshman Lena Ruppert completed the Cowgirl sweep in singles, defeating Ana Perez Lopez of SMU, 6-2, 6-2.

In all, the Cowgirls dominated the SMU Red and Blue Challenge, going 18-3 overall on the weekend.

The Cowgirls have a couple of months off before they'll head to Palm Springs, Calif., to open the spring at the National Collegiate Tennis Classic.
