Cowgirls Defeat Georgia, Finish Fall With 4-1 Mark

STILLWATER – The sixth-ranked Oklahoma State Equestrian team upset third-ranked Georgia by raw scores on Saturday at Totusek Arena.
Oklahoma State and Georgia both grabbed five points in the Hunt Seat and Western disciplines to tie the score at 10 apiece. After a raw score and Western equivalency calculation, OSU won 1,593.8-1,593.5.
OSU's Carly Barrick and Alexa Beaty were honored as Most Oustanding Performers of the meet. Barrick was an MOP for Equitation on the Flat, winning her matchup, 80-72. Beaty snagged her MOP with a 72-70.5 win in Reining.
Ebba Lange continues her undefeated season in Reining, defeating UGA's Graysen Stroud, 73-72, to move to 5-0 on the year.
Senior Maggie Drysch clinched Equitation on the Flat for the Cowgirls as she beat Georgia's Madison Newman, 79-74.
The first two events were close as Georgia edged OSU out in both Equitation over Fences and Horsemanship, 3-2. Carly Barrick and Hannah Janson won their points in Equitation over Fences, while Libby Collins and Miranda Reed took the points in Horsemanship.
"Across the board, everyone rode at such a high level today," said OSU head coach Larry Sanchez. "We couldn't be more proud."
OSU ends the fall season with a 4-1 record and will resume play in February.
