Adamovic and Babic Tally Two Big Doubles Wins at Riviera

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – The Oklahoma State women's tennis doubles team of Katarina Adamovic and Vladica Babic continued its run in the doubles consolation bracket at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club. The Cowgirl tandem sits one win away from qualifying for the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships next month.
Following up their win over 11th-ranked Stanford team of Caroline Doyle and Melissa Lord Friday, Babic and Adamovic opened the day with a quarterfinal matchup against South Carolina's seventh-ranked Paige Cline and Hadley Berg, which they would take, 8-2.
The pair's second matchup of the day brought a showdown with the second-seeded and fourth-ranked Michigan team of Mira Ruder-Hook and Brienne Minor. Adamovic and Babic won again, this time 8-5, to clinch a spot in the back draw finals.
Adamovic and Babic have been impressive as a team going back to last season, as they've won 35 of their last 39 matches together.
Sunday's finals will bring the pair's toughest test yet, as the Cowgirl duo will face the nation's top-ranked doubles team of Mami Adachi and Aldila Sutjiadi out of Kentucky Sunday at 11 a.m. CT with a trip to the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships on the line.
