Lushkova Advances to Main Draw at Riviera/ITA All-American Championships

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State women's tennis senior Viktoriya Lushkova advanced into the main singles draw with a win in the final round of qualifying Wednesday afternoon at the Riviera Tennis Club.

Matched up with No. 106 Felicity Maltby of Texas Tech, Lushkova dispatched of the Red Raider, 6-2, 6-1, to move into the event's main draw, joining senior Katarina Adamovic and Vladica Babic. The win was Lushkova's 21st consecutive victory dating back to last season.

Freshman Aliona Bolsova and sophomore Sofia Blanco came up short in their final-round qualifying match Wednesday, but not before knocking off Ohio State's Sandy Niehaus and Gabriella De Santis, 8-5, in their second round match. Bolsova and Blanco battled but fell to 33rd-ranked Zoe Katz and Gabby Smith, 8-6, in the third round, wrapping up a successful, 5-1 weekend for the Cowgirl duo.
