CHICAGO – Senior Isabella Deilert matched her best round of the young season to get the Oklahoma State women's golf team off to a solid start at the Windy City Collegiate Classic on Monday.
Deilert fired a bogey-free 2-under par 70 in the opening round, which is just a stroke off her personal best set in the spring of 2014. She followed that with a 1-over 73, which moved her into a tie for 12th place with 18 holes to play at the Glen View Club.
As a team, OSU will enter Tuesday's final round in 10th place at 11-over after carding 292-295 – 587. At 12-under par, Georgia leads a strong field that includes 10 squads that competed at last season's NCAA Championships. Georgia's Bailey Tardy holds a 1-stroke lead at 9-under par.
OSU's Alexis Sadeghy continued her run of strong play. The junior carded eight birdies over her first two rounds, including six in the afternoon round, to move into a tie for 26th place at 2-over.
Chih-Min Chen is at even par for the tournament thanks to a five-birdie opening round. Last year's Big 12 Freshman of the Year is in a tie for 38th place.
Linnea Johansson is tied for 50th place at 6-over, while Kenzie Neisen is in a tie for 63rd at 9-over.
