Cowgirls Prepare For USSSA Pride

STILLWATER ---- Oklahoma State Softball returns to action Thursday when it takes on the USSSA Pride of the National Pro Fastpitch League at Cowgirl Stadium.
First pitch is set for 6 p.m. and will be live streamed on okstate.com/live. Fans can also follow along with live stats on okstate.com. Admission is $10 with a limited number of standing room only tickets being sold starting an hour before first pitch.
Oklahoma State (4-0) comes into the game halfway through its fall schedule with wins over SNU, Cowley County, Connors State and Seminole State.
This will be the first time since 2010 a professional team has come to Stillwater. The Cowgirls took on the NPF All-Star Team in October of that year, falling 6-0.
The night has been dubbed as Little League Night as any little leaguers in attendance in their uniform will have the opportunity to take the field with the Cowgirls for the National Anthem.
Following the conclusion of the contest, the teams will hold a joint autograph session that is open to all fans.

Quick Hitters
- Junior Vanessa Shippy is leading the way thus far at the plate for the Cowgirls, posting an impressive .667 batting average on 10 hits with eight RBIs.
- Cowgirl batters have found plenty of success at the plate in the fall with six Cowgirls hitting .400 or better.
- On the other end, Oklahoma State pitchers have hit their stride. The staff of senior Brandi Needham, junior Whitney Whitehorn, sophomore Christina Biggerstaff and freshman Logan Simunek have combined for a low 1.66 ERA on 34 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .182 batting average.
- Oklahoma State pitching coach Charlotte Morgan played for the Pride during her NPF career. Morgan was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NPF Draft and helped the Pride to a national championship in her first year.
- Hannah Rogers, in her second season with the Pride, played under Gajewski while the two were at Florida.
