Bases Loaded: Cowgirls Prepare For Busy Week

1st Base: Shippy Hits For Cycle In Win
Junior Vanessa Shippy hit for the cycle to help lead the Cowgirls to a 10-1 win over Connors State last Tuesday. Senior Brandi Needham picked up the win in her first start of the fall. With her performance, Shippy is now batting a team best .750 on the fall with nine hits and four RBIs.

2nd Base: Speed Speed Speed
It's been an impressive start on the bases for the Cowgirls, especially in the stolen base department. Oklahoma State runners are 13-for-14 on stolen base opportunities through three games with junior Alex Edinger leading the way with three.Â

3rd Base: Lots of Zeros
Oklahoma State's pitching staff has been efficient and impressive thus far. Junior Whitney Whitehorn, Needham and Christina Biggerstaff have posted a 0.00 ERA through their first three appearances, with freshman Logan Simunek posting a 3.00 ERA with plenty of signs of improvement in her first collegiate games. All together the staff has combined for 27 strikeouts and a .179 opposing batting average.

Home: Cowgirls Set For Busy Week Â
The Cowgirls kick off a busy week Tuesday with a 6 p.m. game against Seminole State. Admission is free. The week continues on Thursday against the USSSA Pride of the National Pro Fastpitch League at 6 p.m. A limited number of standing room only tickets will be sold starting an hour before first pitch. The week concludes on Sunday with a doubleheader against Arkansas that's scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Admission will be free.
