Cowgirls Set for Weekend Matches

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State women's tennis will begin the spring season on Sunday with matches against Abilene Christian and Oral Roberts at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively, inside the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center.
The Cowgirls return to the court looking to build upon one of the most successful fall seasons in program history.
The Pokes won 67 out of 96 combined matches in both singles and doubles during. Each Cowgirl that competed during the fall season finished with a winning record.
OSU enters spring competition ranked No. 12 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
All six Cowgirls that competed in the fall are represented in either the singles or doubles ITA rankings.
Seniors Maria Alvarez and Kelsey Laurente are ranked as the No. 9 doubles pairing in the country after being crowned champions at the ITA Central Region Championships. Junior Katarina Adamovic also captured the event's singles title to produce a clean sweep for the Cowgirls.
Sophomore Vladica Babic was crowned champion at the Dick Vitale Clay Court Classic to end the fall season for the Cowgirls.
The Cowgirls look to build upon a 2015 season, which saw them host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament at the Greenwood Tennis Center and clinch a spot in the Sweet 16.
