Cowgirl Softball Hosts Barton CC

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State softball team will continue its fall schedule on Wednesday with a ten-inning scrimmage against Barton CC at Cowgirl Stadium. First pitch is set for 5 p.m., and admission is free.
The Cowgirls have excelled in a pair of exhibitions this fall, taking down Cowley College, 8-1, and NOC-Enid, 19-1. Oklahoma State registered 21 base-hits in its last victory, contributing to an offensive effort that also included two home runs and ten runs over the final two innings.
In the circle, the Cowgirls have allowed only two earned runs through 18 innings of play, thanks to the combined efforts of Brandi Needham, Kacy Freeze and Peyton Walker. Freeze retired nine-consecutive hitters in OSU's win over NOC-Enid, and Needham has yet to allow a run through two contests.
Barton Community College is coming off one of its best seasons in school history, which saw the Cougars finish 36-20 and capture their first NCAA Region IV title. Barton nearly advanced through the District E championship, but dropped two close contests to Western Nebraska CC to close out the season.
