OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. — Oklahoma State's men's golf team tallied a 282 during the first round of action on Friday at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational to stand in a tie for third place at Olympia Fields Country Club.
The Cowboys' 2-over total knotted them with Illinois and was one shot off the pace of Stanford's 281 for second place. Florida State fired a 7-under 273 at the par-70, 7,353-yard layout to lead the event.
A thunderstorm forced the postponement of the first round until tomorrow morning. Play is set to begin at 8 a.m. with the second round slated to begin one hour later.
A pair of Cowboys finished the day tied for seventh place with sophomore Sam Stevens and redshirt freshman Nick Heinen posting 69s.
Senior Jordan Niebrugge carded a 71 to come in tied for 22nd place.
Junior Wyndham Clark and sophomore Kristoffer Ventura each signed for 73s to finish the day tied for 33rd place.
