The Oklahoma State equestrian team has signed incoming freshman Allie Stein and Tennessee-Martin transfer Mia Bray to its spring signing class, head coach Larry Sanchez announced Monday. Â Allie SteinAllie Stein A Warren, Ohio, native, Allie Stein will be joining the Cowgirl equestrian team next fall. Stein is a National AQHYA World Championship qualifier for 2013, 2014 and 2015. In 2014, she finished fifth in the 15-18 Horsemanship and 14th in NYATT Horsemanship at the All-American Quarter Horse Congress. She has competed in the NYATT tournament three times and last year helped the Southern Ohio Quarter Horse Association to a 5th place in the team competition. Stein was also the 2014 Reserve Champion for Showmanship for the Ohio Quarter Horse Association and was 12th in the nation in Showmanship. In 2012, she placed fourth in 12-14 Youth Trail and 12th in Youth Horsemanship at the Quarter Horse Congress. Stein has many other regional top-10 awards in Trail, Horsemanship and Showmanship, along with Superior and All-Around awards.
Mia BrayMia Bray Mia Bray will join the Cowgirls next fall after spending her freshman season at Tennessee-Martin. Bray hails from Indio, Calif., where she attended La Quinta High School. She was the overall champion or Children's Hunter Classic champion 10 times over a four-year span and finished third at the HITS Hunter Prix in 2011. Bray has numerous podium finishes at the 3'6" medals to her credit and competed in the CPHA Foundation Medal Finals in 2013. As a freshman at Tennessee-Martin, Bray earned Second Team All-American honors in equitation on the flat and was named the United Equestrian Conference Rider of the Year in the flat. She notched an 11-3 record with three MOP's (Most Outstanding Performer) in equitation on the flat for the Skyhawks during the 2014-15 season.
Stein and Bray add to the talented Oklahoma State equestrian signing class of 2015. In December, the Cowgirls announced the signing of six current high school seniors that will also be joining the squad this fall.
