Cowgirl Tennis Selected to Host NCAA Regional
April 28, 2015 | Cowgirl Tennis
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's women's tennis team will host its first on-campus NCAA regional on May 9-10 at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
This marks the Cowgirls' 17th NCAA appearance and the first time OSU has competed in the tournament four-straight years since the 1988, 1989, 1990 and 1991 seasons.
The 12th-seeded Cowgirls (21-5) will take on Boston University in the first round. It's the first time in program history the teams will meet up. Should they advance, the Pokes will face the winner of the Arizona State and Arkansas match.
"It's definitely exciting for us to be able to host for the first time ever here in Stillwater with the new Greenwood Tennis Center," coach Chris Young said. "It's the perfect opportunity for us to bring a lot of things together from the season. [Hosting an NCAA regional] was one of our primary goals we set at the beginning of the year. To be able to do that and see that reward today is very exciting."
The first round will take place on May 9 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and the second round will be on May 10 at 1 p.m.
Tickets for the event can be purchased at the OSU ticket office or at the gate. They are $5 for adults and $3 for students. Additional
